Why I Build Solo
Who I am
I am a software engineer and a solo entrepreneur. I am working at a pre-IPO stage startup in the SF Bay Area as a senior iOS engineer. I also have experience in creating my own one-man company and an iOS app. My attempt to make the product become a massive success didn’t really work out but the app is making about $1000/month autonomously.
Why I build solo
I have been curious and tried finding co-founders to start a startup but I never found the right people. However, I am also a generalist while I have a specialty in iOS development. This combination allows me to handle many types of functions needed to successfully run products including product and engineering. Moreover, I often hear that the No. 1 reason why startups fail is because of co-founder issues. In my opinion, building solo can be a great way to build a product and company when you have the right combination of skills, especially when we can leverage AI effectively.
My goal
My dream is to achieve $200K per year in passive income through a portfolio of apps. By doing so, I want to achieve a geographical freedom and become able to travel between North America and Asia freely without compromising my financial stability and success. This is not going to be an easy task but it is a very important mission I crafted after hard thinking and I am excited to give my best shot. I’m going to start projects to pursue this goal while working my 9-to-5 job and potentially transition to working full-time on my own projects.
Why I created this website
I want to document my journey and share my experiences and learnings with others who also aspire to achieve geographical freedom, significant passive income, or just love building great products like me. We can do it!
